Week 11- Task 1: Valuables

For the first task, VALUABLES, I got to choose three objects which I consider valuable to me. Thus, I'd choose my Sketchbook, Earphone, and my makeup- Foundation.

Sketchbook - Release

Besides things like phone and laptop, my sketchbook has come into my mind right away. As an artist, we all note down our creative, unique, and crazy ideas in that holy bible. Those concepts are all priceless and precious. For me, it's sort like a place I could do and think whatever I want to, just like heaven and a playground for the creative child in my body.

Before you draw or write on that sketchbook, it's just a book of blank paper maybe with one-pound or more. Soon as you put yourself (your soul, your mind) into it, it becomes priceless. I would say it's defiantly essential for life as an artist. It could carry every emotion even your darkest stories or ideas that couldn't tell others. It's a way to release yourself.

Earphone - Comfort

There are loads of my babies stuff from my home could not bring to London, which sort of like having not much sense of security abroad. However, the earphone is being with me always along the way from Taiwan to the United Kingdom. No matter what kind of situation, it comes in handy. When I am happy, I listen to music with an earphone in order to immerse myself in the vibe; When I am upset, I listen to music with the earphone in order to find comfort within the lyrics. This kind of accompaniment and comfort is very valuable and precious to me.

Foundation - Confidence

It might seem a bit superficial but as I apply foundation on my face to cover all the imperfections on my face, it enables me to feel more confident and secure. On the other hand, it's quite a peak and sad to have this kind of thought. It pushed me to introspect that I should focus more on inner beauty rather than facial beauty. It's hard to conquer the insecure but that will be interesting to challenge myself with it.
